8 RandomsThings About Me.

I was tagged from another blogger I follow. The tag says to post 8 Random Facts and/or Habits about myself and then choose 8 other people to tag. After you put this link on your site, go and tag 8 other bloggers and have them link back to you. There are benefits to this tagging game: You increase traffic to your site and meet new people.
1. I am such a book worm. I love to read. I like LDS romance books,& Lds Mysteries. I also like other non-lds books. I have tried to listen to book on Cd's but I find that really hard to do. I find my mind wondering and not paying attention. I do better if I am reading books with my eyes. When I am into a great book, I take it every where I go. I like to take my kids to the park and sit under a tree a read. I have always read book and I am thankful because my kids love books too. In fact Lealynn is in 6th grade and is reading at a 8th grade level. Chayanne is in 4th grade and reading at a 6th grade level. And my younger kids are always wanted someone to read to them. Books are great. So are my kids.
2. I am such a perfectionus and a clean freak. I always try and keep a spotless house because I always wonder if I will get a surprise visitor. It has happened before. It gets bad sometimes because I will clean clean clean until I am exhausted. I had to learn to hand chores off to my kids and just be happy I have help.
3. I was afraid of water. When I was about 5 years old I almost drowned in a hotel pool. All I remember is that I was showing off to my dad by letting go of the side and I lost me grip. And than this BIG hand that belonged to my heroic father saved me. I was left with the fear of water. I wouldn't even take a bath. I overcame it when I was baptized at 8 yrs old. I was crying the whole time saying "please don't drown me." Thinking back to the moment in time, I think if my dad baptized me I probably wouldn't have been so scared of the water.
4. I regret not seeing my Mosana (grandma in Navajo) before see dies. She was a neat grandma. I remember playing on "HER" mesa in Monument Valley. Back then, I climbed those rocks all day long. I also remember sleeping in her shade house at night. She made the best fry bread ever. Mosana I love you so much.
5. My favorite color is green. One reason why I love green is because it is the color of my birthstone Emerald. I don't remember when I decided to like Green
6. I like to go fishing. One year my dad and I entered a fishing derby contest in Joseph City. I think we were actually there just to fish and realized they were having a derby. I don't remember how old I was but we entered. It took a awhile (I would say all day, dad if you read this how long did it take us)but i was getting bored. I was whining to go home because we haven't caught anything. Well when i stopped whining we caught the biggest carp that whole day. I even got a fish trophy. I still have it. I wish I could take a picture and show you. We won first place. Now my kids and husband go fishing. I haven't gotten my license in awhile because I can't really enjoy fishing when I have babies and toddlers to run after.
7. I didn't get my drivers license until I was 18. It took me 3 tries to pass the written test for my permit. My step-mom tried to teach me but I think I scared her. My dad seemed to always be to busy to teach me. So when I moved out of the house and lived with my cousins I borrowed his truck and took the driving test and got my license.
8. I play the clarinet. Well I did in high school. I also played the alto clarinet, the saxophone, alto sax. I can't sing because I am tone def but I can play instruments. I would love to get back into playing the clarinet. I really enjoyed it. I love music. I like all types of music. I hope and pray my girls play some kind of instruments while in school.

Betty Sue !!!

This past Tuesday night for Enrichment our ward had a special guest speaker. Betty Sue from The Biggest Loser was our speaker. I am not sure if you watch The Biggest Loser, her daughter Ally won last season. She was the first woman to win on the show. Anyways, she was great. She had said that it was really hard to be on the show. She said she prayed every night while on the ranch. She had a lot to say about the behind the scenes.
She said that she had became closer to Heavenly Father and that her daughter was closer to Him than she had been for awhile. My mind is still trying to absorb everything that she said. I really felt the spirit that night while she was taking.
One of the things she said was that while she prayed for her daughter to become closer to God, she also prayed that she would find away to spread her experience to others. She than thought about talking to her sisters ( Relief Society). She said that we need to get in shape now. Because when we are called to walk to Missouri, we would only make it to Apache Junction. That is the next town east of Mesa about 16 miles or so.
A lot of things she said got me thinking. I don't want to spoil it for you if she comes to your relief society. She not only looks FABULOUS, she also has a very special spirit with her.
Her mom is in my ward here and if you would like her to come visit your enrichment let me know and I may be able to hook you up.
She was so expiring that I have made a goal for myself. I am giving myself a year and than I am going to walk to A J (Apache Junction) from my house. So I will be doing this walk Oct 17, 2009. I am going on a diet and going to lose weight. I am going to post my trials and triumphs on this blog.Fist of all I need to figure how many calories I need and keep a log. I also need to get organized so that I can do this. I may be silly starting right before the holidays, but why wait. I have waited for 12 yrs to finally commit to this. I need to do this for me and also for my family.

Veterans Day

I am so thankful for all the veterans old and new for what they do for me, my family, and especially you, my friends. I am thankful for their bravery for fight for our freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to choose our schools, freedom to vote, freedom to walk down our streets safely. There are a lot more that I can mention. I am most thankful for our Heavenly Father who have created these heroes who He knew that were so brave and willing to do the things needed for our country.
I have a few military wives as friends who I am thankful for because they are letting their husbands and or themselves serve our country for our freedom. That is major for me because I am sure that it is hard to see your love ones go for a long period of time but they do it unselfishly. Thanks gals.
Being Native American (Navajo) I am grateful for any of my ancestors that may have served in the war. They are just now getting all the praises all these years, but I have known about them and I am grateful for their help also in fighting for our country.
Their are a lot of people out there that are upset because we are in a war right now. I just wish that they could just sit back and think about all that they have and realize that all these precious things we have just didn't get handed to them. We had to fight hard and we need to keep fighting if we want to keep what we have now.
I am sorry I am talking like this but I am just wanted to let everyone know that I am thankful and everyone else that are upset be thankful too. We live in a amazing country. God Bless America every day and every minute and every second.

Lealynn & Chayanne

Say what !!!

My oldest daughter was noticing that I had very few pics of her and her sister. I must admit I do have a lot of pictures of my younger kids. The reason is that I am always with the younger ones while the oldest kids are in school. So I told Lea to pick some pictures out and I would post them. These pictures are just a few of the ones my mom took when she took just them to the State Fair. They had a great time at the State Fair. My mom, their masana (grandma in Navajo) has taken them every year for the past two years. So this post to for Lealynn and Chayanne. I love you guys

Feild Trip to the Farm

Today Nathaniel's preschool had a field trip to a local farm. It was great. Isabella and Elijah came with us. We rode on a pony, we milked a goat, and we even go to hold bunnies and chickens. We also learned what a turkey looked like before we ate it for Thanksgiving dinner. The best part was the hay ride. We found that during the hay ride, Isabella was allergic to hay. I had no idea :( She kept telling me that the hay hurt her, but we couldn't just get off the ride or we would be stuck somewhere in the tree orchard next to the farm. Her eyes started to water up and she sat on the trailer not the hay but that wasn't goo enough. She is better now but her eczema is back on the back of one of her legs. Over all we had a blast. It has been awhile since I really truly enjoyed myself with my younger kids.
